The office of the Livingston Parish Clerk of Court

Files all civil suits.
Records and maintains all land transactions, mortgages, liens, UCC's and other instruments in the public record.
Issues jury subpoenas and marriage licenses.
Records the minutes of criminal, civil and juvenile courts.
Conducts all elections in the Parish as the Chief Election Officer.

The office is organized into departments, sections and workgroups based upon areas of common functionality.  For example, the "Mortgage Department" actually handles much more than mortgages --- it encompasses the recording, indexing and archival of mortgage, conveyance and "miscellaneous" documents filed into the Public Record.
